Houman Seyyedi: From iFilm star to international accolades

Houman Seyyedi, a figure in Iranian theatre, television, and cinema, is a familiar face to iFilm audiences, as he has graced several series and movies aired by the channel.

Seyyedi recently achieved international recognition with his latest film, 'World War III’, which clinched the prestigious Best Asian Film award at the 2nd edition of the Septimius Awards Amsterdam.  

Seyyedi made his cinematic debut in 2004 with ‘A Piece of Bread’, a film directed by Kamal Tabrizi, which was aired on iFilm English TV. This marked the beginning of his career in the Iranian film industry.

One of Seyyedi's notable achievements as a director is his award-winning film 'Africa', which earned him recognition as the Best Movie in the video works section at the 29th Fajr International Film Festival.

Throughout his career, Seyyedi has been a prolific actor, contributing his talent to numerous films. Some of his notable works include 'Fireworks Wednesday', 'He Who Goes to Sea', 'Hotline', 'Confessions of My Dangerous Mind', 'Buffalo', 'Bridge of Sleep', and 'Profiles'.

In addition to his contributions to the silver screen, Seyyedi has also left a mark on Iranian television. He has participated in various TV series, including ‘Bewilderment’, ‘Until Being with Sorayya’, ‘In the Eye of the Storm’ and ‘Mehrabad’, all featured by iFilm English channel.  

Seyyedi's recent success with 'World War III' is a testament to his talent and dedication to the craft of filmmaking. His journey from a high school graduate in Graphic Design to a celebrated actor and filmmaker serves as an inspiring example of pursuing one's passion and making a significant impact in the world of entertainment.
